2nd day ROME Breakfast at your hotel. In the morning private guided sightseeing of the city: an itinerary by coach and on foot to visit its classic monuments. Crossing Piazza della Repubblica with the Fountain of the Nayads, our local guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historical centre, where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, La Colonna di Marco Aurelio, the Palazzo di Montecitorio, designed by Bernini, the Pantheon (visit inside), Palazzo Madama - seat of the senate, and Piazza Navona. Passing alongside Castel S. Angelo the bus will leave you close to the Vatican City. Having admired St.Peter's Square where you can hear all the guide has to say about the Basilica*, you will then have the chance (except when there are religious celebrations) to explore this magnificent church on your own and to admire masterpieces such as Michelangelo's “La Pietà” and Bernini's bronze canopy before rejoining the bus. Lunch at your own. In the Afternoon your guided tour will continue with Piazza Venezia and its impressive monument dedicated to King Victor Emanuel II and the Unknown Soldier. Then you continue on foot to the famous Piazza del Campidoglio designed by Michelangelo from where you will have a fantastic view of the Roman Forum. Your bus will continue by the Circus Maximus and the Pyramid of Caius Cestius before arriving at the Basilica of St. Paul outside the walls (visit inside). The tour will be completed with a stop outside the imposing Colosseum. Return to your hotel. Overnight.

4th day ROME/FLORENCE Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer by bus to Florence. Rest of day at leisure. Overnight
5th day FLORENCE Breakfast at your hotel. In the morning meeting with your guide to enjoy your full day walking private sightseeing tour of the city and its famous monuments: Duomo, Giotto’s bell tower, the Baptistery with its bronze doors including the famous Porta del Paradiso, the Cathedral with the magnificent Cupola del Brunelleschi, Galleria dell’Accademia* where you can admire the famous David by Michelangelo and other works by the great artist. (*) Closed on Monday. Replaced with visit to the Bargello museum or the Medici Chapels. Lunch at your own. In the afternoon your guided tour will continue to the old city centre for a visit to the Franciscan Church of Santa Croce (interior) where we can admire the tombs of Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo and Rossini among others. A short walk through the historic streets of the heart of Florence brings you to the famous Piazza Signoria, Galleria degli Uffizi* where you can admire the superb paintings of Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Giotto, Cimabue, Masaccio. (*) The Gallery is closed on Monday; replaced with visit to the Museum of Palazzo Vecchio. Overnight at the hotel.

Points of interest will include St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Baptistery, the Ducal Palace, the Prisons and the Bridge of Sighs. The tour ends with a visit to a glass blowing factory.
